About

There has been a disparity of black design students, within the industry. Many black design students are not privy to opportunities due to a lack of resources, recruitment, education, and/or mentorship. The talent and skill of the black students are accessible and present. We want to further the growth and development of black design students, while also partnering with companies to create a pipeline for black design students.

Design {For Us, By Us}. AEI Design Initiative stands for Advocate Educate Innovate Design and the intersectionalities that each sector brings together. To be able to accomplish the set goals we have for the program, we will have a series of workshops, networking events, and panel discussion events for the upcoming year that will enable students the opportunity to connect with recruiters and other industry employees, within their field. This Design Initiative is being developed at North Carolina A&T State University, Graphic Design Department, by the student Zariah Cameron. Find more information here.
